Moment 3 lands on Windows 11! A hiccup looms

Ana sayfa / Windows

Windows 11 users have been anxiously waiting for the Moment 3 update, and now it’s within reach. But, there’s a little catch. Let’s dig in.

Tracing the roots: The saga of Moment 3

Doesn’t it feel like we’ve been here before? You’re right if you’re thinking that Moment 3 was already launched. But, the rollout was a bit selective. Not all Windows 11 PCs were invited to the party.

Initially, Microsoft extended the update invitation only to those who had selected the option to ‘Receive updates immediately’. However, turning on this setting didn’t guarantee the update – the rollout of Moment 3 occurred in stages amongst these users.

The good news is, if you’ve missed out, it’s your time to shine. The Moment 3 update is now part of June’s optional updates (within patch KB5027303) and available to all.

The details: Is it a risk or reward?

Before you rush to install the Moment 3 update, here’s some food for thought. Yes, the juicy features of Moment 3 might be too enticing to resist. But remember, it’s still in its preview phase.

That’s why it’s optional – it’s the final testing phase of this package. Being beta software, it might still pose a higher risk of bugs than the full-release version.

Waiting for the full release, due next month as part of Microsoft’s monthly cumulative update for Windows 11, might be a wiser decision. Once that happens, you’ll have to onboard Moment 3 on your Windows 11 system, albeit with a short delay option.
